For the first time in its history, Collegium Musicum of London opened the gallery at St James’s, Piccadilly, as audience numbers swelled for the choir’s concert on Saturday 18th November.
Rapturous applause greeted CML’s spirited and polished renditions of classic works by Handel, Vivaldi, Bach and Purcell.
And audience members were generous in their praise:
‘A beautiful concert in a perfect setting. Both the familiar, like the Vivaldi Gloria, and the lesser known, but revelatory, Dixit Dominus by Handel.’
‘Beautiful choral music sung to a very high standard in a lovely setting.’
‘This was a really wonderful concert. A great programme, with fantastic voices, both the soloists and the whole choir and great musical accompaniment too.’
‘This was a beautiful concert that I will remember for a long time. Great choice of music in the programme sung perfectly.’
