A packed house at St James’s, Piccadilly was present for CML’s first return to Bach’s momentous work since 2006.
Under the expert guidance of the choir’s MD, and alongside a host of top Baroque instrumentalists and soloists, CML produced a spirited and polished performance which can only have added to the ensemble’s growing reputation in the capital.
Audience reaction
‘It was so beautifully sung, just rich and varied. I have seen marvellous etchings of Bach in his churches, with the choir around him, I can just imagine how pleased he would be with CML’s interpretation.’
‘How wonderful to sit in a Wren church listening to Bach’s masterpiece performed by Collegium Musicum singing and playing with so much pleasure.’
