CML celebrates Vaughan Williams

Saturday May 7 saw a packed Temple church for CML’s Vaughan Williams extravaganza. In a programme which included the composer’s Serenade to Music and The Lark Ascending, the stand-out performer was violinist Ian Belton. The choir and vocal soloists also acquitted themselves brilliantly – expertly marshalled from the rostrum by CML musical director Greg Morris.

‘The Turtle Dove, reminded us of how much Vaughan Williams contributed to the preservation and development of traditional English music and was a gentle and beautiful end to one of the finest choral concerts I have attended. I very much hope to see and hear this choir again, and in this space.’
