Audience acclaim for CML’s Rachmaninov masterpiece

Collegium Musicum of London’s autumn concert received a rapturous response from audience members at St John’s in Notting Hill as the choir delivered a polished performance of Rachmaninov’s neglected materpiece the Liturgy of St John Chrysostom. Here are some of the comments:

‘The singing was of a very high order. To sing so much unaccompanied music and stay in tune as one voice was a great achievement – it was wonderful music.’

‘This was, to my ears, a wonderful rendition of the first choral composition by Rachmaninov.’

‘I went with two friends [both of whom sing in choirs] and we were all enchanted by the exquisite performance.’

‘…we all felt it an honour to hear the dedication of this talented choir.’
