Another full house for CML’s moving WW1 tribute

Saturday 16th June saw another packed venue in central London as CML’s Pacem concert attracted considerable interest at the Swiss Church in Covent Garden.

The centrepiece was Vaughan Williams’s impassioned plea for peace Dona nobis pacem, arranged by Greg Morris for chamber ensemble and piano.

Soloists Augusta Hebbert and Michael Hickman, alongside actor Brendan Charleson, combined with the choir to produce a memorable evening of words and music; a fitting 100-year commemoration of those ordinary people who lived and died during World War One.

‘My ears are still ringing with that wonderful Vaughan Williams sound. It was a really imaginative concert’

‘The choir is going from strength to strength on blend, intonation and emotional range.’
